It has remained relatively untouched by humans as about 20% of all land in Tasmania is world heritage area. It also is home to some of the tallest tree species in the world reaching up to 100m in height as well as the oldest trees in the world, like the one pictured to the right which is over 2000 years old (yes, that pre-dates Christianity).
